The Clarkston Police Department has engaged GO Technology Management to provide managed IT services for their precinct, including GO's complete Backup and Disaster Recovery solution that protects their mission critical servers.
Clarkston PD has invested in new computer systems for both the squad room and records office. Officers now have the tools they need to perform their jobs efficiently, spending only minimal time documenting their activities, which allow for more time on the street protecting the community.
"Chief Scipio and the rest of the officers are now very happy", said Dudley Wells of GO. Said Sergeant J.P. Portalatin, "Since GO has installed our new technology, we have not had a problem. Before, all the officers had to share one workstation that did not work very well."
Working closely with Comnetix (a leading software vendor to police departments and jails), GO implemented the Eagle Ticketing and Records Management software used to manage all tickets and warrants. This is critical to the management of the police and records department. Since the police department is a 24/7 operation, they needed to make sure that this mission critical application was always available.
GO installed its SENTRY DR backup solution that provides local and off-site backups of the entire server. With its snapshot technology, an entire image of the server is taken every 15 minutes. If there is a failure to the server, the SENTRY DR can be rebooted and brought up in virtualized mode, assuming the role of the downed server.
